We won the prestigious EMA 2010 awards (Energy Management Awards) facilitated by KAM. Kenafric Industries Limited garnered two awards out of the 8 categories which led us to an overall winner of EMA 2010.

This is the second time in a row having won the same in 2009 a feat that no any other organization has ever achieved.

Our Energy Management team received the awards at a Gala Night event organized by KAM on 25th March 2011. It was a Joyous moment for our team to receive these awards. Kenafric is surely the centre of attention for all industry leaders as their praises continue pouring in.

In this 7th Energy Management Awards celebration, we won in the following categories.

1. The Overall Energy Management Award Winner: Kenafric Industries was once more declared the most outstanding Industry in Kenya for its Energy management initiatives and results in Energy efficiency. Winner for 2009 & 2010.

2. Best Energy Management Team Award Winner: We were also once more recognized as the most outstanding Energy management team that has excelled in training, organizing and implementing energy management initiatives leading to remarkable energy saving. Winner for 2009 & 2010.

Every year, Kenafric Industries Limited holds a Long Service Awards Ceremony for the long servicing employees who have shown loyalty and commitment to their work for over a decade. They are awarded with this honor.

The 6th edition of the EMA gala event, which was presided over by UNEP Executive Director Mr. Achim Steiner, brought together over 300 guests to witness companies that have successfully implemented energy efficiency measures and attained savings.

Kenafric Industries was recognized for its well established energy policy which has a framework for monitoring the consumption of energy. Also noted was its energy efficiency measures including motor load match and process optimization which have led to de-commissioning of some machines.

The company has also put in place an energy committee with well defined responsibilities. The committee is involved in awareness creation campaigns among staff which has resulted in huge savings.
